Intentional Invitation: Sharing the Good News of Jesus with your Children 3.21
I published the Good News of the Gospel on the home page of my personal website. A friend texted me
about a week after I sent her the site to tell me her daughter accepted Jesus using the Gospel
presentation I put on my website. I celebrated with her about this victory!
This experience reminded me of the importance of making a simple process of presenting the Gospel
available to parents. It hit me that, though this girl hears the truth of the Bible at church and has been to
Vacation Bible School, she didn’t make a decision accept Jesus’ gift of salvation until her mama
intentionally invited her to make that decision.
Your children may have heard the Gospel message, but have you intentionally invited them to make a
decision to follow Jesus on their own? Here’s that simple Gospel presentation for you to use as a
starting point for that conversation with and invitation to your children:
The most important thing is that you and your child know that God loves you and sent Jesus to show you
that through His life. “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
There’s the greatest story ever told that will change your life and your children’s lives, too.
God created us to be with Him. (Genesis 1:26-27)
Our Sins separate us from God. (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23)
Sins cannot be removed by good deeds. (Galatians 3:23-24; John 1:29)
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again. (Romans 6:23)
Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever. (John 10:10; Revelation 22:3-5)
If you believe this to be true, the next step is to tell God that you believe. Romans 10:9-10 says,
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by
openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”
Salvation for full life now and eternal life is a GIFT there is nothing you can do to earn it, you must simply choose to receive it. This means telling God that you want Him to be in control of your life because you believe Jesus is who He says He is, has done what He said He did and will do what He says He will do. To tell Him, you start by praying which is simply thinking thoughts to God… don’t worry, He will hear you.
